At the former reference [p. 6a], "our late excellent Mr. Nicholas Hilliard" is mentioned; at the latter references [p. 8b and 24b], "your late countreyman and my deere cozen Mr. Isaack Oliver", and "a historie of the buriall of our Saviour Jesus, done vpon a large table of fine abortive parchment pastned (sic) vpon a smooth and well seasoned bord, I thinke of peare tree; it is nowe in the hands of my verie worthy cozen Mr. Peter Oliver, by whose incomparable father Mr. Isaack Oliver it was begun and almost finished. It was a peece of the greatest beautie and perfection (so much as is finished) that I thinke Europe or the world can produce," etc. (This picture is now in the Royal collection.)
