Dated "the yere of oure Lord God MDXXXVII, anno r. r. Henrici octavi xxix".

Contemporary copy.

As Abingdon’s book was edited by Rawlinson it is very probable that the Injunctions are there printed from an incorrect transcript of this MS. Besides variation of order, there are the following mistakes. In the third injunction, for "from the chapiter" read "from chapiter to chapiter"; in the fifth, for "longe bedde tellyng lett," read "longe bedde rollyng shuld lett"; in the eleventh, for "xiii. days" read "xiiij dayes"; in the fifteenth, for "in prase tyme no ... body," read "in this plage tyme no ded body".

To these mistakes are added the following in the professed reprint: the words "say the Creed and the Ten commandments" are transferred from the article about admitting persons to the sacrament of the altar to a new imaginary article made up from a portion of that relating to wills and testaments, and in the last article the word "any" is altered to "an".
