Leaving England 29 May 1707. Mention is made of their visiting Mrs. Paxton, a cousin of the mother, at Breda, and of their hearing at the Hague of the death of the writer’s cousin De Ruyter. At the Spa they visited the Duchess of Tyrconnell, Lady Napier and Lady Webb.
See also the diary at fol. 111; since this has been identified as the diary of Mrs. Elizabeth Burnet, third wife of Gilbert Burnet, bishop of Salisbury, 1689-1715, the present diary may have been written by Mary or Elizabeth Burnet, one or other of the bishop's daughters by his second marriage.
