To some of the notes the names of the preachers are attached:

- (p. 33) "Fulke".
- (p. 37) "G. Phillips".
- (p. 64) "Rowly".
- (p. 83) "Mr. Pick".
- (p. 99) "Mr. Stoneham".
At p. 30 there are quotations from "Dr. Some" and "Mr. Swale," and at p. 124 from "Mr. Hearne" and "Mr. Sinews".
The book is marked throughout in pencil by some careful reader.
