A series of meditations on cases of repentance, commencing with that of Adam and Eve, and ending with "The example of the excommunication of the emperour Thodosius by St. Ambrose".

A short preface apologizes for "many errours in the English" by the fact that the writer had not been permitted "to read on English book nor so much as to speake an English word" for above two years.

This is followed by a dedication to her father Sir Charles Wheeler, knt. and bart., hoping that the book will make him believe that she is converted, and that she will endeavour to employ "the remaining part of her unfortunat dayes in the reperation off the erours of the past, and in the designe to regaine the titel of" his obedient daughter.

At the end Dunton has written a list of short pamphlets which he proposed to write, and which he calls "Remaining projects".
