The parchment cover is a deed of sale in the time of Charles I, but not completed, as the dates are not filled in, by Edward Huntley of Chepsted, Surrey, to his brother William Huntley of Hambleden, Bucks, of the messuage called Deanes House, with land, in the parishes of Chepsted and Woodmansterne. On this cover is also written the name "Humphry Huntley".
