A preface and marginal notes are added by the transcriber, and from one of the latter at fol. 14 his name is ascertained, reference being there made to a prayer "in our father Mr. Wm. Garret’s Life, p. 68, 69," a life, however, which does not appear to exist in print. The preface is signed C. G., and dated on the feast of SS. Simon and Jude, 1690.
