"an injured and distressed clergyman" in a suit with his father Henry Rankell, sen., respecting his rights under the will of his grandfather Peter Rankell, dated 7 June 1665, to a share of the tithes of Botley, Berks, and of the mill, etc. there, leased from the earl of Abingdon, and land in Whichwood forest, leased from Queen’s college, Oxford; after 1703.
