Relating to his claim for the return to the Library of five volumes of University Statutes and Registers which had been taken into the Archives by Langbaine:—

  1. (fol. 654) i. "Dr. Langbaine's case; the first drawght, Nov. 8, 1653".
  2. (fol. 655) ii. "Bookes belonginge to Bodleyes Library now in the hands of Dr. Langbaine; presented to the Curators, Nov. 8, 1653".

Each paper ends with the words, "Academiae, interest ne quid detrimenti capiat Bibliotheca Bodleiana".

The books had been originally removed in 1648 for the use of the Parliamentary Visitors; Annals of Bodl. Libr. 1890, pp. 104–5, [where the note on p. 105 about the loss of one MS. is an error, the book being now MS. Bodl. 82].
