The scene is laid in the garden of a grammar-school in "a little town in Suffolk," and the persons are represented as three young men about to enter the University, who were spending the Whitsuntide holidays at the school.

Written in the eighteenth century. Among books cited, Turner’s Remarkable Providences is prominent; some of the others are the Spectator, Watts’ Hymns, and Milbourne’s Psalms.

On a fly-leaf at the end (fol. 64) is the engraved armorial book-plate of "John Wynn".
