Lord Hatton has gone off secretly, on account of many creditors lying in wait to arrest him for great debts.

"I am rather glad then sorry your son hath miss’d his relation, for I would not for more than I am worth have him undone upon my commending him to a lord of such conditions, which were kept secret from my knowledge till very lately".

Most of the letters from Dr. Jones in fols. 39, 42, 44, 47, 49, 50-3 bear good impressions of his seal of arms, in red wax.
