Hawes opposed the Usages. The other persons present were Collier, Spinckes, Gadderar, Brett, Gandy, Sclater, Bell, Doughty, Howell, Leek, Peck and Hall. Of these only Collier, Brett, and Peck were in favour of the Usages, and Gadderar said nothing. The place of meeting was chosen as being near Hawes, "in consideration of my weakness, being not well".
