Written very closely in a very minute Scottish hand, as follows:—

  1. (fol. 263) i. On Philippians iv. 5, dated at the end, 25 Oct. 1639.
  2. (fol. 265) ii. On Rom. xv. 22-4; imperfect.
  3. (fol. 267) iii. On Cant. ii. 15.
  4. (fol. 269) iv. On Heb. iv. 7; 20 Nov. 1635.
  5. (fol. 272) v. On Matt. v. 25; 13 Nov. 1636.
  6. (fol. 277b) vi. "A sermon [on Job xiv. 14] preached at the funerall of M[arianna] H[epburn] spouse to the worshipful esquire W[illiam] L[ockhart] of Carstairs, 1637, Martii 8"; followed by sixteen Latin lines, apparently signed T. C. headed "In piae memoriae dominam optimam Mariannam Hepburnam Gulielmi Lokharti Carstarii conjugem epitaphium".
  7. (fol. 280b) vii. On Rom. viii. 28.

Most probably these sermons are in the handwriting of John Lindsay, A.M., who was minister of Carstairs, Lanarkshire, from 1621 to 1672. (Hew Scott’s Fasti Eccl. Scot. vol. ii. part i. p. 317).
