In which reference is made to his having been tutor to two princesses [i.e. Mary and Anne, the daughters of James, duke of York], and to his having been employed ecclesiastically in Scotland.
The passages are as follows: "— gratitudo tamen duarum principum quarum animos ad veram religionem et pietatem informasti"; "— illi quondam rudes et barbari nunc vero vere Christiani Scoti, qui ex eo usque tempore quo regionem istam Caledoniam praeséntia tua et doctrina perbeasti debitam reverentiam erga principes, vera reformatae religionis dogmata, et rectum divini numinis cultum a te vel maxime didicerunt et inde usque exercuerunt".
