The transcript commences in the letter from Q. Eliz. to the earl of 14 Sept. 1599, about his conduct in Ireland; which is followed by:—

  1. (fols. 58b, 62b) i. Letter to him from Thomas Egerton, the Lord Keeper, and the earl's reply.
  2. (fols. 67b, 81, 94b) ii. The speeches in the Star-Chamber of the Lord Keeper, the Lord Treasurer, and the Lord Chief Justice [29 Nov. 1599].
  3. (fol. 97b) iii. The earl's appearance before the Privy Council, 5 June, etc., 1600.
