Half of the title has been torn away, and only the following words remain: "Obser[vations] ... the Impr ... as also ... the Realme ... out of Recor[ds] ... ninge the fo .."..

The cases of impropriations mentioned lie in the province of York, and are chiefly concerned with the abbey of Whalley and the parish of Halifax.

Certain articles of enquiry are suggested, one of which, as to the number of impropriations, might be answered, it is said, in one week "by the clearkes of Mr. Flowers’ office in the Courte of First Fruits".

Reference is made to "a learned treatise of God’s providence lately written by Doctor Cradock intituled the Shipp of assured safetie"; this book was published in 1572. Our MS. would seem to have been written about, or soon after, 1600, and is probably a copy.
