On a fly-leaf at the beginning are given a few notes about Fleetwood’s life, and on a paper pinned to it the following memorandum: "This MS. hath been perused by Jos. Taylor, Esq., Clerk of Bridewell Hosp., to whom I have given a copy with many notes and observations thereon; and copys also to Mr. John Mathews, Edw. Umfreville, esq., John Stracey, esq., Recorder of London, Steven Comyn, esq., Sir John Strange, knt., late Recorder of London. Perused also by Mr. Rob. Pocklington, Wm. Moreton, esq., since also Recorder of London".
