The petitions at MS. Rawl. D. 398, fols. 222 and 223 and reply at fol. 226, with a copy in another hand at fol. 230, bear internal evidence in style and matter, and facility of versification, that they are unknown productions of George Wither. They are not infrequently met with in MSS.
