Custodial History
On the back of fol. 83 Hearne has written the following note: "1719. All these papers from the beginning of this book hitherto belong’d once to Mr. John Bagford, who writ most of them. They afterwards came to that admirable physician, Dr. Richard Mead (my great and learned friend), who gave them to me. Memorand. that the gross of Mr. Bagford’s papers were purchased after his death by the Rt. Hon. the Lord Harley."
