Of the first letter there is a rough draft and a fair copy, which is endorsed, "A. B."s answer to Mr. M———r’s [qu. Maittaire’s?] letter, but A. C., [bp. Archibald Campbell] refused to send it."
The address on the second letter has been carefully obliterated.
