Mildred was the third daughter of Thomas Cecil, first earl of Exeter, but the eldest daughter, Catherine, is stated in Collins’ Peerage, 1812, vol. ii. p. 602, to have died unmarried, and no one of the seven daughters is described as having "married into Cornwall."
