Printed in J. Nichols’ preface to his edition of the Life and Errors, vol. i, p. xxix. It is there surmised from the character of the handwriting that the letter was written by Dr. John Woodward, the Gresham Professor; it is true that the initials strongly resemble his hand, but the letter itself bears but a faint resemblance. Of the names 'Rowe' and 'Singer' in the printed text, only the initials are given in the MS.
