Printed in the second edition of [Anderdon's] Life of Ken, 1854, pp. 170–174, where, by a singular mistake (probably in consequence of there being no signature) the letter is said to be "not an original, but a copy in a handwriting of the time, very like Ken's, but not his autograph."
The paper is most clearly in Ken's handwriting throughout; and the passage which, in a subsequent letter printed at p. 176 (ibid), he requests may be omitted when a copy is made, has been enclosed in brackets, evidently showing that this was the original from which the copy so made was taken. In the printed text, for "priestly intention," read, "priest's intention;" for "this religion," read, "his religion;" and for "having truth," read, "saving truth."
