Bigge, minister of Winterbourne Dauntsey, Wilts, to William Cooke of Farledge, regretting that he is unable to subscribe anything himself, his salary being only thirty shillings yearly, and saying that in his parish he "could force noe man nor persuade any man or woeman to be soe charitable as to give one peny", 21 May 1653
