The following note is added by Rawlinson in the table of contents at the beginning of the volume: "The best part of this copy was transcribed by the Rev. Mr. John Ball, B. A., from a copy before it was printed, from which he told me it differr'd very much, and that [he] was inform'd the copy from whence this was taken (probably an original) was in the library of Robert Harley, esq., afterwards Earl of Oxford, and not unlikely is yet amongst the Harleyan manuscripts." It does not, however, appear in the Index to the Catal. of the Harleian MSS.
