A common-place book of notes and extracts relating to English history, chiefly ecclesiastical, from a wide range of authors, English and foreign, and extending from the earliest times to 1736, the date of the publication of Drake’s Eboracum, from which some notes are taken at fol. 51.

Contents include:—

  1. (fol. 18b) i. Notes from the Orcades of Torffaeus, 1697.
  2. (fol. 53) ii. Notes from O’Flaherty’s Ogygia. fol. 53.
  3. (fol. 67) iii. "The method and order in which I propose that a new collection and edition be made of the histories and notices relating to Great Britain and Ireland". (Further notes, fol. 64).
  4. ([volume reversed]) iv. Translation of a dissertation by dom Jeronymo Contador de Argote, proving that St. James visited Spain.

The volume was originally intended to be used as a common-place book on legal matters, and a few law notes, written by another hand, head some of the pages.
