"Written," as Hearne notes, "in his younger years"; chiefly theological.

On fol. 90b Seller notes his ownership of the book "ex dono amici mihi plurimum amati dni P. Steph. e coll. Exon., Maii 29, anno MDCLXV". The only name corresponding to this in Foster’s Alumni Oxon. is that of Peter Stephens, matriculated 6 Dec. 1639, who never graduated.

The principal contents are:—

  1. (fol. 9b) i. Transcript of a tract "Of paradise, by M. C." [i.e. Marm. Carver], 1666.
  2. (fol. 29) ii. Notes on the Egyptian pyramids.
  3. (fol. 4 [volume reversed]) iii."Grammaticae Hebraeae" institutio.
  4. (fol. 22) iv. "Linguae Chaldaicae brevis institutio".
