- (fol. 210) 14. A long paper roll (about 10 feet 5 inches, and wanting some few lines at the beginning) containing an answer by [Thomas Benolte] Clarencieux king of arms to twenty-two articles of complaint by Sir Thomas Writhe, or Wriothesley, Garter.
Item 14 dates from before the year 1529: see Noble’s History of the College of Arms, p. 114. The remark of Benolte’s there quoted is found here in his reply to the eleventh article: "Yt was the pleasour of the King my mayster to send me often and dyverse tymes into the partes beyende the see, wheras I was as moche without the realme as within".
