Collections from the vestry minute-books of the parish of St. Botolph, Aldgate, including also business relating to the ward of Portsoken, copies of wills, etc., 1574-1671
Two indexes of matters are prefixed.
The volume was written by Francis Parke, the parish clerk, who signs his name in 1633 at fol. 74b, and writes this note on the outside of the vellum cover, "This booke doeth properly belonge to Francis Parke, parish-clarke of St. Botolph without Aldgate, Lon.". The one entry relating to the year 1671 is made by John Fleete, also parish clerk; see fol. 116.
Folios 86-98 are described as having been "Coppied out of twoe manuscripts, the one stitched up in an old lease with the letter A on the cover, the other bound in forrell with the letter B on the cover, both of them old, written all with Mr. Carpenter’s hand, and remayning in the parish chest with fyve locks".

"Here followeth the coppie of a booke in folio, bound in veloms with 4 greene strings, written by Mr. William Carpenter all with his owne hand, and entytled on the cover therof, The accompts of moneys given for the use of the poore of Algate and within the ward of Portsoken"; 1574–1621.
- (fol. 22) 3. List of leases, bonds, bills, and other writings belonging to the ward that are in the chest with five locks in the house of Mr. Deputy Vinton, Dec. 1621.
- (fols. 23-55) 4. "A true coppie of the vestrie booke of the parish in generall ... beginning anno 1605", and ending in April 1625.
- (fols. 57-74b) 5. i. "A true coppie of the old vestry booke kept by Robert Heaze, sometime curate, and Thomas Harridance, parish clerke", 1583–1615; including a few copies of wills .
