Being a most careful and complete record (elaborately written), not only of baptisms, marriages, and burials, but also of sermons, communions (including private communions), and communicants, catechisings, vestry-meetings, excommunications, perambulation of boundaries, collections, and all other ecclesiastical matters with the fullest details.

The following heading is prefixed: "Hearein is conteyned and regestred all christnings, churchings, wedings, and burialls, with other things whatsoever done in the parishe church of St. Buttolphes without Aldgate, London, in a parte of the tyme that Robert Tuttie, cittizen and cooper of London, continewed as Upper Churchwarden or husband for the said parish".

The volume is marked on the cover as being "No. 14," and its cost is thus entered on the last leaf: "Heare in this booke is contayned 5 quires of paper which did cost me 8 d the quire, iii s iiii d: payd more for halfe a veline of parchment to bynd the same in, vi d: payd for bynding of the same vi d. Some iiii s iiii d, besydes that I spent in fetching of the same, xxi d".
