  1. 1. Account of anchorage in the port of Tangier; being a register, signed by Phineas Bowles, of all the ships which anchored there from 7 Jan. 1675/6 to 17 Dec. 1681, with the dues paid by each.
  2. 2. [Volume reversed] List of all the official account-books and naval papers and collections belonging (as is evidently the case, although not so specified) to Sam. Pepys, as arranged by numbers upon nineteen numbered shelves.

The list begins with three books of payments relating to the works 34 and 35 Hen. VIII (in continuation, as it would seem, of the volumes described above, MS. Rawl. D. 775–785), and the latest dates are 1688 and 1689. Two leaves have been cut out at the beginning, but probably nothing is wanting, as the list begins with the first book on the first shelf. Vols. 64–85 contain accounts of successive Treasurers of the Chamber between 1574 and 1670.

Upon the first general list follow these:— "Marble cover’d books tyed up in bundles: E"; "Marble cover’d books tyed up in bundles marked F"; "Marble cover’d books tyed up in bundles marked D"; "Naval pamphlets tyed up in blew paper"; two other short lists marked B and A.

Upon the end cover is pasted a small portrait of S. Pepys, engraved by R. W[hite], with the motto "Mens cujusque is est Quisque," which is said by Granger, Biogr. Hist., to be not common.
