Fragments of a diary of Henry Ferrers, esq., of Baddesley Clinton, Warwickshire, 1-13 and 30 Nov 1620 and 1 Feb to 24 Mar 1629
With several days wanting.
The diary is written in an extremely bad hand, and is difficult to be deciphered. It is very minute, recording the most trivial incidents of daily life, the writer’s rising, washing, meals, etc.; but gives prices of various articles of food, and mentions persons of the names of John, Henry, and Peter Shakspere; together with a notice of one Wenman, appointed parson of Charlecote by Sir Thomas Lucy.
The writer was a Roman Catholic; his name is not given, but it is gathered that he was Henry Ferrers, from its being the diary of a resident at Baddesley Clinton.

On fol. 40 (formerly misplaced in binding as fol. 1) Le Neve has written this note: "To be carried to London, and put with the rest of the papers of this hand, which I take to be a diary of Mr. Ferrers of Baddesley Clinton in Warwickshire, and the rather because I had these papers from Sir Will. Dugdale’s hand, by the 2d or 3d hand".
