The English title of the book ("Ricette dell’ arte") professed to be translated does not appear; and it has not been traced.
The dedication is signed N. N., and is dated at Cologne, 1 Oct. 1694.
On the reverse of fol. 2 is a statement that "Fredericus Gualdus," a German, "melius dicam, Hermetici orbis princeps," died 22 May, 1682, aged 90. And at fol. 15 is "Racconto ai successe di signor Federico Gualdi, diretto da traduttore ad sign. Preciesto di Ternan," followed by several letters to and from Gualdi in 1674–8.
The "Ricette dell’ arte," in twenty chapters, begin at fol. 22.
