Written in the time of James II, under the form of a letter (apparently satirical) from a Roman Catholic priest in England to a friend in France, complaining of the little progress made by Romanism in England, chiefly from the objections on the ground of persecution, and enclosing the particulars of the massacres in Ireland, in order that the friend may suggest a reply

The contents are these: —

  1. (fol. 2) "Lettre de Mr. * * * *, missionnaire apostolique en Angleterre à Mr. Fore, docteur de Sorbonne."
  2. (fol. 7b) "Extrait des registres publics du royaume d’lrlande, touchant le massacre commis en ses different provinces le 23 Oct. 1641, et suiv."
  3. (fol. 10) "Lettre de M. (Richard) Tennison, minister de Trim, au comté de Meath à un milord."
