At fol. 74 his name occurs in the bill of health given him at Leghorn as a passport for Rome, "Alessandro Oliviere Exquemesir (?) f. di anni 40." He dealt in linen, and appears to have had a desire to engage in the slave-trade. He every day went to Mass, and occasionally makes notes of sermons; his acquaintance was largely amongst Capuchins and members of other religious orders.
