Custodial History

The reason for its being found in this collection is given in the following note written by Dr. Rawlinson on the fly-leaf: — "N. B. As this book was seized by the Secretary of State, very few escaped the fire ordeals, which destroyed so many of the copies that this for its rarity I desire may be preserved amongst my MSS. R. + R."
