A treatise of conjurations of Angels, with experiments in crystal, and directions for fumigations, late 17th century
At p. 50 is "A true experiment proued in Cambridge anno 1557 of 3 spirits to [be] don in a chamber, whose names are Durus, Artus, Aebadel." The MS. is probably therefore a transcript from one of the 16th cent. Hearne notices the book in his Diary (vol. CXXX. p. 116), and says that he believes the book came from the collection of one Allen, a conjurer, who lived at Shifford near Bampton in Oxfordshire, through other "cunning" men, Cornelius of Oxford, and Seckford, a glover of Oxford.
