On fol. 3 b is written, by another hand, Mrs. Hoskins’ petition (in six lines of verse) to James I. in behalf of her husband, John Hoskins, serj.-at-law, when imprisoned in the Tower.

Some paper leaves which composed a former cover are now inserted at the end of the volume. They consist of a letter (imperfect at the beginning and end) of remonstrance from a son to his father respecting his not sending him to Oxford, and of a rough draft of some Latin lines headed, "Ad cognatum suum necnon reverendiss: Pasto: dominum New:" in a hand, or hands, of the time of Q. Elizabeth.
