This anonymous volume is in the handwriting of the scribe of the two volumes of Sermons by Leighton which are numbered 26 and 27 in the Rawlinson collection of Sermons, and proves to be a further part of the same collection of the archbishop’s homiletic writings.

It would appear that the volume was transcribed from short-hand notes or from the author’s own MSS., as in several instances blanks are left for words which the writer could not supply.

On a fly-leaf at the beginning of the volume is a list of devotional works, English and foreign, in the handwriting of Bp. Francis Turner.
