Extracts made for Samuel Pepys out of a book of Naval Collections compiled by James Humfrey in 1558, and lent to Pepys in 1668 by the Duke of York, 17th century
A table of contents is prefixed in the handwriting of Pepys, who says, in a note describing the contents of the original volume, that the compiler "appeares to have been some surveyor or clerke in the office of the navy."
The last two articles are in the handwriting of S. Pepys.
