A brief "Itinerary" through Essex, Cambridgeshire, Huntingdonshire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Cheshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Bucks, Bedfordshire, and Hertfordshire; by some one who set out from London 5 Sep 1709 accompanied by one "Mr. Rogers, the gentleman to whom this discourse is dedicated", 18th century
No dedication now remains in the book.
The notices of places are for the most part very brief, except in the cases of the house of Henry Winstanley (the first builder of the Eddystone Light-house) at Littlebury, Essex, and of the caverns of the Peak in Derbyshire; and they are written in a very bombastic and extravagant style. Small county-maps, by John Seller, are inserted.
