  1. (fols. 1-89) folder inscribed 'Miss Lagden's papers', containing typed copy of Lagden's diary and notes (MSS Afr. s. 151-152) of his walk 'from Cape Coast Castle to Coomassie in 1883, shooting and collecting birds and insects' (MSS. Afr. s. 209, folder 5, fol. 1); also, cuttings that include a contemporary account in the European Mail; later cuttings are concerned chiefly with the Golden Stool of Ashanti (Ghana). Letters from Rita Cassidy and Alan Hardy to Miss Lagden, 1956-1957, and notes, probably made by her, relate to a proposal that she should write an article based on her father's diary, 1883-1957
