Jamaica, c. 1930s
Five prints, four loose album sheets with 27 captioned small photographs of scenes in Jamaica. Eighteen are of earthquake and flood damage in Kingston in 1933. Six show the presentation of silver drums to the Manchester Regiment and the departure of the Regiment, and three depict Vale Royal. There are three further loose prints of the floods, an aerial view of Government House, Kingston, and four duplicates of prints in the album sheets. A photograph of Battershill shaking hands with Charles Lindbergh, with an aircraft and the sea in the background, and autographed by Lindbergh, probably relates to this period in Jamaica.
