Survey of texts in Silsila, Syene, Coptic church in Philae. Clearly graffiti; mapping Greek graffiti in Silsila (proskynemata); Coptic graffiti in Deir el-Medina (temple/church). Insert with graffiti from Dendur (temple now in MMA, NYC); Inscriptions from varied quarries; including an Arabic graffito. Also hieroglyphic text on "Stela Hierakonpolis" (cartouche Aa-kheper-ka-Re / Thutmosis I (?)); sketch with positions of graffiti copied by Sayce in "Temple of Diocletian/Domitian".
'Private Notes J.G. Maxwell Lt. A.D.C' is written on the cover and has been lightly crossed out.
