Arrangement
These are further 'personal' files (some formerly kept in Roy Welensky's Salisbury (Harare) safe; some handled by his private secretary). They are much less correspondence with individuals than briefing about them, often from the standpoint of security considerations. For further Federal Intelligence and Security Bureau reports, see MSS. Welensky Papers 237/1-239/6. Files are listed in alphabetical order.
An array of domestic, financial, and personal (that is, non-official) matters passed through the private office and its filing systems. For further material dating from 1951 to 1953, see MSS. Welensky Papers 551/1-552/7. The files of general correspondence in this section narrow in scope with the passage of time as further, more specific files were created (now at MSS. Welensky Papers 552/8-573/2, etc.) to deal with less personal matters, such as congratulations or support. Running files Minister of Transport 141 and PM 67 are now represented by MSS. Welensky Papers 693/2-695/5.
