Certain major tours of the two northern territories will be found in the preceding section; others are to be found in the context of elections, electioneering, and party politics in series 5 of this catalogue. There is some overlap between the ensuing material and the subsequent section: invitations. Two long series of running files (Liaison Office UA4504/1, becoming UA4525, then Fed 5009/2 and Minister of Transport 133; and PM 60/A-N) are now represented by 410/2-418/3. The heading 'tours' was abandoned in 1960 or 1961 and the series was replaced by box files containing 'engagements', 'invitations', etc.
