These are public bodies to which Welensky was nominated by the Northern Rhodesian (Zambian) Government or whose papers were circulated to him as Chairman of the Unofficial Members' Association. The Central Africa Council is dealt with separately at MSS. Welensky Papers 91/1-103/2.

Some of the Chilanga Cement files pre-date the Liaison Office, while others were not incorporated into its filing system, where a mass of files (D1007/) existed for the cement company.

From 1950 to 1953, Welensky was a government director of this company which was, in effect, a joint enterprise of the Northern Rhodesian (Zambian) Government and the Colonial Development Corporation. Arrangement

The minutes, agendas, and supporting papers were organised by the company and filed by Welensky/the Liaison Office in a variety of ways. All have been reordered to the most common of these - all papers for a meeting together - and divided into quarterly files. The dates given in the catalogue entries for these are those of the board meetings; occasionally, supporting papers will carry a slightly earlier date.
