Some of the Chilanga Cement files pre-date the Liaison Office, while others were not incorporated into its filing system, where a mass of files (D1007/) existed for the cement company.

From 1950 to 1953, Welensky was a government director of this company which was, in effect, a joint enterprise of the Northern Rhodesian (Zambian) Government and the Colonial Development Corporation.
