- two versions of a circular letter sent to family and friends, dictated by Bern Schwartz, relating to his hurried departure from London due to his cancer diagnosis, 12 Dec 1978
- invitation from King Charles III (then the Prince of Wales) to a reception at Buckingham Palace for Friends of United World Colleges, 8 Nov 1978 (= Closed)
- order of service for Bern Schwartz's memorial, held at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club, 22 Jan 1979. Includes draft notes of Ronny's speech and text of speeches given by Dr Jonas Salk and Dr James Tanis, 1978
- letter from Don Pasquale Macchi, private secretary to Pope Paul VI, thanking Bern and Ronny for their condolence letter on the death of the Pope, 20 Sep 1978
- copy of a speech delivered by Philippe Halsman at a memorial service for Bern Schwartz, held at the International Center of Photography, New York, 19 Feb 1979
- obituaries and retrospective articles about Bern Schwartz, 1979
- copy of the opening convocation speech of the second semester at Bryn Mawr College, PA, delivered by Mary Patterson McPherson, 15 Jan 1979.
(folder 2) Comprises further material relating to the death of Bern Schwartz:
- letter of condolence sent to Michael Schwartz from Sydney E. Salmon, a doctor who cared for Bern during the last month of his life, 30 Jan 1979
- press cuttings of obituaries and retrospective articles about Bern Schwartz, including a full issue of American Photographer magazine, Jul 1979, containing an article by Philippe Halsman, titled 'Bern Schwartz: A Yankee photographer who became the toast of England'.
(folder 3) Comprises black-and-white prints and marked-up contact sheets of photographs taken by Mark Wright at the memorial service of Bern Schwartz, the International Center of Photography, 19 Feb 1979.
