The first letter to Griffiths (draft and 3 carbon copies), carries a note of criticism in Marjorie Nicholson's hand; a revised version dated 11 Jul 1950 (fols. 251-253) was sent to Griffiths. His letter dated 30 Aug 1950 (fols. 256-258) gives a detailed reply. There are two drafts of a further letter from the Bureau, dated 8 Nov 1950, from Marjorie Nicholson (fols. 259-264).
